It is just "mkv" that I am having problems with. I'm not too worried about the artwork anyway so doesn't matter too much, I just want to be able to play all video files to my ps3 and not see this annoying "Unsupported data" message keep cropping up. Since deleting the artwork, the program seems stable now. I also had problems before with the program crashing, but after looking at the forums someone said they had problems with it crashing also but discovered it was to do with artwork. If I am to understand correctly, once a movie has been transcoded, it will automatically stream the transcoded version to the playstation 3 instead of the original file the next time you go to play the movie, but this is not the case as it continues to say "Unsupported data".Ĭould you please tell me how to fix this problem in an easy way? if you can help me with this, then I may purchase the full version to go alongside PS3 Media Server for all my streaming needs otherwise I can't justify the purchase unless this transcode/pretranscode stuff works. For some reason, I can't seem to play the stream of the transcode, nor can I return to the movie when it has finished transcoding the files. When I go to play a movie that is unsupported, the Ps3 says unsupported data, however Mezzmo begins to automatically transcode the file for streaming. One of the main problems right now is that my playstation 3 doesn't appear to be playing the transcoded files. Yeah I have a lot of issues with PS3 media server especially with MKV files.I've been trying out your Mezzmo trial program and have been running into a few problems. I'll check it out when I get home tonight. I finally got fed up and started looking for an alternative. However, these files playback fine on the PC, but who wants to playback high-definition video on a 24" monitor when you can have it on a 54" TV. If you have an iTunes library, it can just suck that right up, album art and all.Īedis wrote: ↑I've been using PS3 Media server for a while now to stream media from my PC to my PS3 and DLNA equipped Pioneer TV and I've always had odd issues with some files which didn't stream correctly (file is corrupt error message). There's not as many low-level/advanced tweaking with command line parameters with Mezzmo, but who needs it when things JUST WORK (see Mac vs PC ). Overall, Mezzmo's user interface looks MUCH prettier than PS3 Media Server. No degradation in quality, the original source of the file is delivered with no downsampling at all - original AC3 track as well as the original H.264 AVC video track is streamed over. I try loading up the videos that were problematic with PS3 Media Server, and voila, it just works. I fire up my PS3 and lo-and-behold, I see the Mezzmo server. No fiddling around with any settings or options. I download Meezmo, installed it and after it's up and running with minimal input (just asks for some administrative credentials to run as a service, and asks where my media is), it JUST WORKS.
